Fun with the Family Southern California, 8th: Hundreds of Ideas for Day Trips with the Kids (Fun with the Family Series) ReviewI ordered this book along with Susan Peterson's "Fun and educational places to go with kids and adults in Southern California," hoping to find good family expeditions. Sad to say, "Fun with the Family" suffers terribly from the comparison. It's not that it's bad, it's just that its a very generic, lightweight guidebook that mostly covers places I already knew about. It would be fine for a family who is visiting and wants the highlights of where to go with kids, but I'm looking for interesting weekend expeditions that aren't theme parks or museums. In that case, I'll definitely go with the Peterson book, which is literally four times the size, much more comprehensive, and full of interesting places you won't find in every other Southern California guidebook.Fun with the Family Southern California, 8th: Hundreds of Ideas for Day Trips with the Kids (Fun with the Family Series) Overview
